It’s raining cats, dogs, and walruses for our #ThreeQuotes week. Dogs today.
They just don’t write ‘em like that anymore
Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.
- Groucho Marx
Does anybody kill it as much as Groucho Marx? Is anyone as on point as Groucho Marx? Are there any other overused hip phrases that are going to sound terrible in six months that I can use to describe Groucho Marx?
Back in the day humor was clever and, like, funny. Fortunately this has fallen out of favor because it allows me to pick up bits like this and it seems fresh to people. God bless Groucho Marx. Gettin’ it done.
Back to Eden
Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring--it was peace.
- Milan Kundera
Everyone always has to go all “cats vs. dogs” on the bit. But why does there have to be a competition? They’re both beautiful animals and make life wonderful in distinctly different and endearing ways. They both bring peace. God bless cats and dogs. And God help us if it ever starts actually raining them.
< Audrey Hepburn
Dogs never bite me. Just humans.
- Marilyn Monroe
What a whore. She probably didn’t even say this anyway. At least she had some talent, as opposed to the Hiltons and Kardashians of the world, but the cult of Marilyn is something I’ll never understand. Almost every word that is attributed to her, correctly or incorrectly, makes me want to puke in my soup (copyright George Carlin).
