It's Christmas in August as we wrap up the week with a Quote/Picture/Video dedicated to ol' St. Nick.

Half the quotes I found during my Google sear-...uh, I mean, my in depth research for this article, were snarky quotes comparing believing in Santa Claus to believing in God. And they're all about as banal and ordinary as this non-point from Smith. Even children understand that there's a serious difference between the concept of God and that of Santa Claus (“serious” being the key word). If you're an adult and you can't figure it out...God bless you, man.
Foley is Santa (see what I did there?)
Last year Mick Foley took part in a documentary called I Am Santa. It looked into the every day life of four guys who play Santa Claus at malls during Christmas to see what makes them tick. Doesn't sound too thrilling to me, but it's not like it's any worse than any terrible reality show.
Plus it's got Mick Foley, the big teddy bear of a man who made his mark wrestling amidst barbed wire and firecrackers. There's so much room for depth of analysis there.

I'm a total fan boy of Stella, the comedy trio of David Wain, Michael Showalter, and Michael Ian Black. Only Black is something close to a household name, but if you do some digging you'll find that Wain and Showalter have their hands in a lot of stuff as writers (and Wain as a fairly accomplished director).
For me they don't get any better than the short scenes they released online in the late '90s and early '00s. Their humor is clever, weird without being contrived or forced, and absurd while also making sense.
They aren't for the faint of heart, though, as Searching for Santa proves. There's a Jewish slur in the first two minutes, Santa (played by Zach Galifianakis) and Mrs. Claus have sex, and the final scene is so dirty and ridiculous that it has to be seen to be believed. This is probably my favorite Stella short.
