We are the champions...
For the third time in the last five years YOUR Minnesota Lynx are WNBA champions. The team is admirable in so many ways, from the character of the individual players to the dedication to greatness of the organization. It's nice that they were finally able to win at home, too. One million good vibes to Minnesota's professional sports champions.
Joey Bats(flip)
Okay, okay, so that headline is terrible. Forgive me.
There was plenty of controversy at game five of the Blue Jay/Rangers ALDS series. At one point the stadium went crazy, raining garbage onto the field after the Rangers took the lead after an extraordinary series of events. For a full report on "the most spectacular inning of baseball that has ever been played" click here.
The Rangers lead was short-lived. In the bottom of the same inning the Blue Jays tied the game after a series of Texas errors. They then took the lead on a spectacular Jose Bautista 3-run homer. After hitting the monstrous home run he flipped his bat in style. Like, in a straight up "fuck you" sort of way. It was perfect.
Those who are criticizing him as being too cocky are themselves too uptight. Emotions were high and his bat flip represented the feelings of every Blue Jays fan. Sure, it was arrogant, but as the prophet Robert James Richie once said, it ain't braggin' (expective deleted) if ya back it up.
