We specialize in any music that has guts, teeth. Our main genres are alternative rock, Americana (including blues, country, folk, and jazz), and indie rock. For flavor, we'll occasionally throw in punk, hip hop, experimental and atmospheric music, and more.
We don't cover most trendy indie music, especially the sort that is heavy on electronic noodling, repetitive (or uninteresting) melodies, and purposely bland lyrics. With some notable exceptions, we skip over bands and albums that are already critical darlings. We do this partially because they get enough recognition, and partially because they don't usually deserve it.
Beginning October 31, we'll be releasing a blog every other Wednesday. Each will include a longer album review and 3-5 short takes.
